BRIEF: Product Design
The idea of creating a product came about because I wanted to play with video and social media within a food product brand. My love of skeletons and hot sauce was a bonus. My inspiration for the project was reading about The Lovers of Valdaro—a pair of 6,000 year old skeletons, discovered near Mantua, Italy. The lovers were laid to rest together, face-to-face with their arms around one another. I created a font for the logo in Illustrator and drew the skeletons in Procreate. The project was from scratch from naming, to choosing bottle shape, logo and all things Yolo Tengo. “Yo lo tengo” is Spanish for “I have it”—fun play off the Spanish phrase and YOLO!
